Celebrity: Demi Lovato

Demi Lovato is honestly a great role model to many young girls. The past 10 years she has been dealing with a lot of problems such as eating disorders, bullying, depression, diagnosed as bipolar and more. Demi's childhood was very tough because she would be bullied constantly by other kids and she never knew why. But when she finally asked them why, they all said because she is fat.  Demi quoted, "I developed an eating disorder, and that's kind of what I've been dealing with ever since. I was compulsively overeating when I was eight years old. So, I guess, for the past 10 years I've had a really unhealthy relationship with food." Since Demi has become famous, she has been hiding all this from everyone. She would do concerts on an empty stomach, and lose her voice. When one day she got so anger with herself that she took it out on someone that really meant a lot to her, a backup dancer, by punching her in the face. Demi would spend days depressed and all alone from all the bullying that had affected her. All this bullying led her into cutting herself daily. She thought that by cutting herself, it was a way of getting her anger out and by matching her inside with her outside. But there came a time when she was seriously hurt, so she decided to quit her job on her hit TV show "Sonny with a chance", to enter into rehab. In her interview, Demi says "The real reason why I'm sitting down with you is to open up the eyes of so many young girls, that it doesn't have to be this way." She has truly affected and changed the lives of many with her inspiration. Today she is fully recovered and is back on track. She has still given up her TV show to pursue her music career. Demi is a magnificent role model.
